We work to build a strong and compassionate therapeutic relationship with each client, and cultivate a safe space where client’s feel heard and understood, are encouraged to grow and heal, embrace their strengths and transform old beliefs and behaviours. Our ultimate goal in psychotherapy is to meet our client’s where they’re at to support them as they overcome challenges and navigate the world around them.

Music therapy is the intentional use of music, instruments and interventions by a professional to work towards goals both musical and non-musical to improve a client’s overall health and well-being. Music therapy does not require musical ability, but rather is the process of making and responding to the impact of music to address specific, desired outcomes. Music therapists work to apply musical techniques specifically curated for each individual and their needs.

All our therapists are also Registered Psychotherapists or pursuing registration with the college. We focus on providing sessions that can use both music and talking to help you achieve your goals. Many of the reasons to pursue traditional therapy are the same reasons people come to music therapy. The main difference is that we can use music in some form to work towards your goals. How we do so depends on your goals, interests, and strengths — we can create the treatment plan that best suits you.

When we are already going through something it can be overwhelming to just get the therapy process started, so let me congratulate you on taking the first step. I understand that you may feel nervous coming to an appointment. Feeling safe enough to open up is essential for therapy so I work hard to create a space that is welcoming and non-judgmental. One of my first priorities is making my clients feel comfortable and that can look like many things. You can sit on the ground, wear pajamas, colour while you talk or use a heating pad to name a few possibilities!

I have also needed support through some of the great changes in my life. I completed my Bachelor’s in Biology at The University of Windsor and experienced immense uncertainty when my program ended. Ultimately my career path had shifted, influenced by my volunteer experience as a Peer Counsellor during that time. I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.

As a therapist I have a person-centered approach. I work from a neurodiversity affirming lens and believe all neurodivergents deserve to experience self-acceptance despite living in a world that is not built for us. I lean on the evidence-based methods of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-based approaches, but I know that therapy is not one size fits all. We will work together in therapy to ensure it is fitting your needs.

My name is Victoria and I am a Registered Social Worker Psychotherapist. Feeling like you are not enough is a heavy burden to carry. Particularly when you are carrying this alone. Perhaps you have thoughts that you are not good enough, or that you are undeserving of love and respect. Often, we hold so much shame for those things we push into the darkness. Therapy is one avenue to bring your pain into the light, be seen and work toward the life you long for.

I see my role as providing a warm, authentic and compassionate space for you to explore and process the thoughts, feelings and experiences that may be buried under shame or avoidance. We can work together to uncover your inherent wisdom, develop your strengths & coping skills, and enhance your mind-body connection. I also strive to support you in expanding your awareness around how the outside world and oppressions impact your lived experience.

I have a particular interest in working with folks struggling with body image, disordered and/or binge eating, or who are experiencing traumatic symptoms related to interpersonal abuse/violence. I work with many folks identifying as neurodivergent, queer and/or larger-bodied. I centre my values around weight & size-inclusivity, anti-oppression & 2SLGBTQQI+ affirming practice.
