Psychotherapy & Counselling
All therapists in this category are either Registered Psychotherapists or Registered Social Workers, each having their own approach and areas of expertise. Please visit their bios on our website if you are interested in learning more about an individual therapist.
We work to build a strong and compassionate therapeutic relationship with each client, and cultivate a safe space where client’s feel heard and understood, are encouraged to grow and heal, embrace their strengths and transform old beliefs and behaviours. Our ultimate goal in psychotherapy is to meet our client’s where they’re at to support them as they overcome challenges and navigate the world around them.
Please note that Kathleen Skinner is not accepting new clients at this time.
Affordable Therapy
*CURRENTLY ACCEPTING CLIENTS* Are finances a barrier to therapy? We currently offer a pay what you can model, down to $20 per session. We don't want finances to be the reason you don't get the help you need.
All our affordable therapists are skilled Master's level interns, who are closely supervised by experienced therapists. Please inquire if you are interested in seeking out services for couples.
Music Therapy
Music therapy is the intentional use of music, instruments and interventions by a professional to work towards goals both musical and non-musical to improve a client’s overall health and well-being. Music therapy does not require musical ability, but rather is the process of making and responding to the impact of music to address specific, desired outcomes. Music therapists work to apply musical techniques specifically curated for each individual and their needs.
All our therapists are also Registered Psychotherapists or pursuing registration with the college. We focus on providing sessions that can use both music and talking to help you achieve your goals. Many of the reasons to pursue traditional therapy are the same reasons people come to music therapy. The main difference is that we can use music in some form to work towards your goals. How we do so depends on your goals, interests, and strengths — we can create the treatment plan that best suits you.
